BIOGRAPHY
Thaweechok Phasom is a Thai filmmaker of Thai and Tai Yai descent, born in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai, and raised in Chanthaburi. Working across experimental cinema and documentary, his films explore memory, displacement, belief and marginalised lives through fragmented images, oral histories and altered cinematic forms.His short Spirits of the Black Leaves premiered internationally at IFFR 2024 and won Best Southeast Asian Short Film at the 35th Singapore International Film Festival. He is currently developing the short Anastomose and the feature documentary Ancestral Void, presented at Ji.hlava IDFF’s New Visions Forum.
Now based in Chanthaburi, he founded bliss project, a micro-cinema bringing independent and experimental cinema to his hometown.
